Just enough good writing to be interesting, enough humor to provide a laugh here and there without overdoing it. Good set of progressive upgrades that keep you focused on improving. Pretty much everything that is good about small indie games... my only regret is that it isn't finished yet. :). Fairly basic resource management and memory game. Good for a days entertainment but no real replayability.. tHERE ARE NO INSTRUCTIONS SO IT IS HARD TO KNOW WHAT THE OBJECT IS. NO ACTION; VERY BORING. NO SCENERY, JUST LINES AND A RED DOT ON THE SCREEN MOVING FROM PLACE TO PLACE.. This is one of the most charming titles ive played in a long time. Simple. Fun. Rewarding. 8/10. Everything from the aesthetics down the functionality of the game are top notch. Over the last 24 hours the game has been updated beyond recognition and it has a strong future.Potential for a cult classic if it ever overflows with content. As it stands though ive currently maxed out the game. Binge playing mind you.. I want that gold.. at half price... Then i'll wheel next door and sling it for triple profit... Great game, really fun, already love it, but I did run into a small problem. I made it very far and almost made $1000000, had a full roster of troops (10 level 4 security and 2 level 5, 2 level 4 and one level 5 had special abilities), ran into a monster on the road, put in my best troops for a security level of 18, was about to click start battle, than a fatal error popped up and shut my game down. Actually got me to laugh for a while. I'm looking forward to the development of this game and what gets implemented.. This is a great little game, easy to pick up and hard to put down. This is pretty simple:- game not finished (seriously)- campaign does stop at a certain quest (?)- clone of sid meyer's pirates, but worse (Gets boring very quickly, 15h in, I will not touch this again)- I don't feel like a merchant playing this- no love for detail (why would'nt you see your mercenaries in the animated caravan window, while they are represented on the main menu background; interesting idea with different city descriptions, but no real impact on trading; absolutely no surprises in the game; combat system is bad and unbalanced...)- I believe early access should at least give a sneak at what the game should be, this is like a graphic worksheet. Although my playtime in this game is low, I am going to share my experience with those who are thinking about getting it:This game has a really unique concept that understandable GUIs. The art style is good, and although you begin to see repeating random events every once and a while, there are enough of them to get by.In my opinion, this game is something that you would end up playing when you were bored-- Just a simple, *extremely* easy game that can take your mind off of things, even if just for a little bit.There's just something so nice about raising your reputation in each town, and completing missions to gain gold and other valuable items, along with random events that occur on the road and through exploring different towns.All-in-all, I would reccomend this game. It is a very casual game, and sometimes you need something like that. At it's core, it's simply comparing numbers in different towns, but the devs make it feel like so much more than that.Also, as a note to the developers if they read this: The fact that one of the cart upgrades has a .50 attatched to it is quite annoying... Although it makes no real difference, it glitches the money out of the proper area slightly, overlapping some other GUI features. Also, the fact that my money is '3637.50' makes my OCD have a panic attack every time I check my money. But, aside from that and the lack of difficulty for players who want more of a challenge, I love this game and will continue to play it. Version 0.47: This update adds variable difficulty settings! Quite a number of variables are changed across the difficulty variants so please let us know what you make of the balancing of the three new modes; relaxed, standard and demanding.Relaxed is slightly easier than the game has been up to now, standard is somewhat more challenging and demanding should be significantly more difficult than you've been used to!Systems. Version 0.501: Bugfixing...Fixes. Version 0.53: This update is the first step in allowing players to interact with the most powerful factions in Peregrine, with faction missions now available. Many factions can only be found at hidden locations, which can be unlocked through earning intel!Systems. Version 0.4: This is a pretty big update, primarily focused around adding extra content - 52 new events should add a lot more variety! There are also two more tracks added to the soundtrack, various UI tweaks and bug fixes. Additionally, you can now name your merchant, while all mercenaries will also have names.Events. Version 0.5: Version 0.5 is finally here! Key additions include recruitable heroes, a visual day/night cycle on the map, improved background bonuses, rebindable controls, an updated combat deployment system, tailors, feature unlock changes, fighter management improvements, animated combat elements, storage in guild houses and a scenario system.Please note: Saves from previous versions of the game will not work at all with this new version.Systems. Version 0.52: This update contains a wealth of new cosmetic character customisation options! Some of the new options are permanently unlocked through acquiring traits during any of your playthroughs, others are available from the start.There are also two new mission types; Challenge, where the stats of your cart will be negative affected until the mission is complete, and Search, where you'll need to find which of three potential destinations is the correct one before returning to complete to mission.Systems. Version 0.51: This version is primarily about improving missions and smoothing the difficulty spikes that they used to cause early in the game. The key addition is the locations system, which adds specific places within settlements that players can visit directly once they've learned of them.
